Mathematics:

Topic 13: Fraction Equivalence & Comparison
  • Equivalent fractions using models to name the same part of the whole

  • Equivalent fractions represented on a number line

  • Use fraction strips to compare fractions with like denominators

  • Use fraction strips to compare fractions with like numerators

  • Use fraction strips to compare fractions with benchmark numbers 0, 1/2, 1

  • Use a number line to compare fractions as greater than, less than or equal to

  • Use fractions to represent whole numbers

  • Use fractions to construct arguments while solving word problems

Reflex Math Program: Students should be achieving a green light everyday- Monday-Friday if not 100%. Some students may have time to complete this assignment at school. If not, please add this for homework.

  • Practice once a week, if you are at 100% for the year.

  • Keep practicing once a week if you are 100% to stay sharp☺ Some kids are forgetting this step, and they are losing ground.We have students who haven’t logged in since Early March.

Language Arts



Reading Street Story: Jalapeno Bagels

Students will be learning about: 

  • Comprehension: Drawing Conclusions, Summarizing

  • Conventions: Comparative and Superlative Adverbs

  • Spelling: Unit 5 Week 4

  • Vocabulary: Unfamiliar Words, Context Clues

  • Writing: Informative, Opinion, Narrative

Social Studies: Mapping Skills & Culture Reports- DUE APRIL 29th.

Junior Achievement Program wrapping up soon

Science: Jr. First Lego League to begin soon

Music and Fine Arts: 3rd grade Program preparation of cultural songs and a dance performance.

Brain Boosters

Third graders attend special classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Brain Boosters. Students rotate through the following classes this year:

  • Creativity Computer Lab taught by Mrs. Lindsay Christensen

  • Playworks (P.E. based program) taught by Mrs. Leesa Mansouri

  • Music taught by Mrs. Katie Rasmussen

  • Library taught by Mrs. Annette Evans

Please look at the following schedule to determine when your students' brain booster occurs. Make sure students bring/wear appropriate shoes during Playworks and return library books on the correct day.
