Reflex Math Program: Students should be achieving a green light everyday- Monday-Friday. Some students may have time to complete this assignment at school. If not, please add this for homework. Our goal is to be 100% by October 31st.

Language Arts

Reading Street Story: Supermarket

Students will be learning about: 

  • Comprehension: Compare and Contrast, Background Knowledge

  • Literary Elements: Sensory Details

  • Conventions: Imperative and Exclamatory Sentences

  • Spelling: Unit 1 Week 4: Vowel Diagraphs - ee, ea,ai, ay, oa, ow

  • Vocabulary: Multiple-Meaning Words, Context Clues

  • Writing: Narrative Essay

Keyboarding continues for 3rd graders this week!


Brain Boosters


Third graders attend special classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Brain Boosters. Students rotate through the following classes this year:

  • Creativity Computer Lab taught by Mrs. Lindsay Christensen

  • Playworks (P.E. based program) taught by Mrs. Leesa Mansouri

  • Music taught by Mrs. Katie Rasmussen

  • Library taught Mrs. Janis Kearl and Mrs. Annette Evans

Please look at the following schedule to determine when your students' brain booster occurs. Make sure students bring/wear appropriate shoes during Playworks and return library books on the correct day.

  • Field Trip to This is the Place on September 21st. Remember to pack your child a lunch and a drink for the trip. Wear shoes appropriate for lots of walking.

  • Grandparents and Pastries 7:30 a.m. on 9/26

  • PTC on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Early out this Thursday at 1:15

  • October Dates:

  • Register your student for SALTA testing before the deadline of October 3rd.

  • Reflections Contest due October 5th for all 3rd grade SALTA students.

  • Pumpkin Book Report ideas due on October 8th, projects due October 24th

  • Fall Break October 18 & 19

  • SALTA testing in our classrooms October 22 & 24

  • Halloween Parade in the am and our class party October 31st in the afternoon.
