Topic 4: Use Multiplication to Divide: Division Facts

  • Relate Multiplication and Division

  • Use Multiplication to Divide with 2,3,4, and 5

  • Use Multiplication to Divide with 6 and 7

  • Use Multiplication to Divide with 8 and 9

  • Multiplication Patterns: Even and Odd Numbers

  • Division Involving 0 and 1

  • Practice Multiplication and Division Facts

  • Solve Multiplication and Division Equations

  • Make Sense & Persevere in story problems

Reflex Math Program: Students should be achieving a green light everyday- Monday-Friday. Some students may have time to complete this assignment at school. If not, please add this for homework. Our goal is to be 100% on Multiplication and Division by October 31st.


Language Arts:


Reading Street Story: Penguin Chick


Students will be learning about: 

  • Comprehension: Main Idea & Details plus Monitor & Clarify concepts read

  • Conventions: Common and Proper Nouns

  • Spelling: Unit 2 Week 1: V/CV (long vowel) & VC/V (short vowel)

  • Vocabulary: Synonyms using Context Clues

  • Writing: Opinion

Content Integration:

Keyboarding ends for our 3rd graders this week.

Science: Living & Non-Living Things


Announcements:

White Ribbon Week of October 7: Internet Safety

Box Tops:Start collecting and delivering your Box Tops to school for a school contest on October 11th.

Salta Testing: October 22 & 24: in our classrooms during school hours. Students may wear PJs & slippers and bring a healthy snack for themselves both days.

Picture Retakes: October 24th

Pumpkin Book Reports: Due on October 25th.

Brain Boosters

Third graders attend special classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Brain Boosters. Students rotate through the following classes this year:

  • Creativity Computer Lab taught by Mrs. Lindsay Christensen

  • Playworks (P.E. based program) taught by Mrs. Leesa Mansouri

  • Music taught by Mrs. Katie Rasmussen

  • Library taught Mrs. Janis Kearl and Mrs. Annette Evans

Please look at the following schedule to determine when your students' brain booster occurs. Make sure students bring/wear appropriate shoes during Playworks and return library books on the correct day.
